If your washing machine is small for your curtains, never ever think about washing them in it. If you draperies have pleats, washing them in machine can cause them to damage their original shape. As Indian homes get lot of direct sunlight, it can weaken the fibers of your curtains. So if you feel you’re your ethnic curtains have become weak over time, do not wash them at home as it will damage them completely. If you feel that it is extremely necessary, iron on the reverse side. For a crisp and sharp look, you can also starch your curtains.
